As part of the Governments Disability Confident Campaign, Doncaster employers are getting together to help and support more disabled people into work. They are engaging and encouraging more local firms to open their recruitment opportunities to disabled people.
Members of The Ridge Employability Team attended a Seminar ‘Opportunities Doncaster’ on 27th September.
Rosie Winterton, MP attended along with DWP, NHS, Reeds Partnership, Doncaster Chambers of Commerce. Throughout the Seminar, members of these multi agencies presented to delegates what opportunities are available to our Learners.
The Employability Team will be liaising with these agencies over the coming weeks.
Also this week, an external stakeholder has increased a learners placement hours which is very encouraging news. The same stakeholder is considering offering a further placement for another learner from our College. The Employabilitypanel will meet to discuss suitability. Also we have a new Stakeholder who has expressed an interest in offering work experience for learners who are local to them. Watch this space………
